What is a consultant?
The term consulting can be defined in many different ways, but if we set aside semantics and stylistic differences, it can be approached in two basic views. The first approach is a broad and functional view of consulting. It is any form of providing help to the content, process, or structure of a task, where the consultant is helping those who are responsible for doing the tasks in the first place. The consultant is trying to change or improve a situation; however, they have no actual or direct control over how they should be implemented. By this definition, most people in staff roles can be considered consultants even if they don’t call themselves as such.
Acted as a consultant to the plasma center managers by helping to show best demonstrated practices within the industry. Analyzed data and worked with managers to find alternative or "fine tuning" of procedures and processes to improve production output and times. Managed accounts in my assigned territory; washington, oregon, idaho, california, montana and wyoming, including helping in other territories within the united states, providing product technical leadership and sales support for customers. Trained customers in the proper use of medical device products; conducted training classes for instrument operators; and performed periodic assessments and re-trainings/advanced trainings as necessary. Provided on-call consulting and troubleshooting services on the plasma support hotline.
